Mission Chicken

I got this recipe from my wonderful mother-in-law. I have no idea why it's called "Mission Chicken" but I do know that it has become one of my favorite comfort foods. And in a crock pot it's a super easy dinner!

2 to 2/5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/2t cinnamon
1/8 t cloves
1t salt
1t seasoned salt
1 12oz can frozen orange juice concentrate
1/2 cup water
2 or 3 drops hot pepper sauce
1/2 c sugar
1 c seedless grapes, halved
1/2 cup slivered almonds

In a large skillet brown chicken. Combine cinnamon, cloves, salt, seasoned sald, orange juice concentrate, water, sugar, and hot pepper sauce. Pour this mixture over chicken in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours or until chicken is tender. Stir in grapes. Place chicken in serving dish; sprinkle with almonds. Sauce may be thickened with flour dissolved in a small amount of water. Makes 8 servings.

This is delicious served over rice. Especially Trader Joe's Brown Rice Medley.
